The 2026 X3 features an updated engine lineup integrated with 48V mild-hybrid technology. The M50 xDrive utilizes the B58 3.0L inline-six, while the xDrive30 uses the B48 2.0L four-cylinder. Both engines feature a Miller-cycle combustion process and redesigned intake ports for improved efficiency and response.

The M50 xDrive produces a combined 393 hp, benefiting from the 48V electric motor’s instant torque. The xDrive30 offers 255 hp. For international markets, the 30e xDrive Plug-in Hybrid provides 299 hp and an improved electric-only range of up to 90 km (WLTP).

Torque is significantly enhanced by the mild-hybrid system. The M50 generates a peak 580 Nm ($428$ lb-ft), while the xDrive30 delivers 400 Nm. This allows the M50 to offer effortless pulling power even at low RPMs, ideal for both spirited driving and towing.

The M50 xDrive is a performance standout, sprinting to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. The xDrive30 is also quick for its segment, completing the same run in approximately 6.0 to 6.3 seconds depending on regional specification and fuel quality.
