Safety and Security of Suzuki Wagon R in Nepal

Airbag Count: 6 Airbags (Standard)

As of the 2025 update, Maruti Suzuki has standardized 6 airbags across all variants of the Wagon R. This includes dual front airbags, side airbags, and curtain airbags, marking a significant step up in passive safety for this budget-friendly hatchback.

ABS with EBD: Standard

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) is standard. This system prevents wheel lock-up during hard braking and ensures that braking force is distributed optimally across all four wheels based on the vehicle load.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC): Standard

The 2025 Wagon R comes with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as standard. This tech helps the driver maintain control during cornering or sudden evasive maneuvers by applying brakes to individual wheels and reducing engine power if it detects a loss of traction.

Hill Start Assist: Standard (AGS Variants)

Hill Hold Assist is provided to prevent the car from rolling backward on an incline when the driver switches from the brake to the accelerator. While primarily standard on AGS (Automatic) variants, it has been expanded across the range in recent updates.

ISOFIX: Standard

Standard ISOFIX child seat anchorages allow for the secure and easy installation of child safety seats in the rear row. Combined with the 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, it represents an improved safety focus for young families.

NCAP Safety Rating: 1 Star (Global NCAP)

In the most recent Global NCAP crash tests (2023 protocol), the Wagon R received a 1-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection and a 0-star rating for Child Occupant Protection. Note that these tests were conducted on models with dual airbags; the 2025 model with 6 airbags and standard ESC is expected to perform better if re-tested.
