Gearbox Type: Two-Motor e-CVT
Abandoning traditional gears, the City e:HEV uses an "e-CVT," which isn't a gearbox in the conventional sense. It consists of two electric motors—one for traction and one for generation—and an engine-linked wet-type multi-plate clutch. This setup allows for a seamless transition between three driving modes without the "rubber-band" effect typical of older CVTs. The system intelligently switches between series and parallel hybrid operations to maintain a staggering fuel efficiency of over 27.13 km/l.
