Despite housing a heavy Lithium-Ion battery pack (the Intelligent Power Unit) and dual motors, Honda has kept the City e:HEV remarkably light at 1,280 kg. This was achieved through the "Advanced Compatibility Engineering" (ACE) body structure, which uses high-tensile steel to provide maximum rigidity with minimum weight. The car maintains its 4,583 mm length and 2,600 mm wheelbase, ensuring that the heavy hybrid components do not compromise the "Man Maximum, Machine Minimum" design philosophy.
