The heart of the Force Gurkha is a Mercedes-Benz derived FM 2.6 CR CD turbocharged diesel engine. This 4-cylinder unit has been updated to meet BS6 Phase 2 (OBD-2) norms, producing 140 PS (138 bhp) at 3,200 rpm and a peak torque of 320 Nm available between 1,400–2,600 rpm. It features a DOHC valve train with 4 valves per cylinder and a Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDI) fuel system. Performance-wise, it clocks a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 20 seconds with a claimed top speed of 150 km/h.
