Engine Type: 1.2L Z12E Z-Series Petrol
The new Dzire has moved away from the old 4-cylinder K-Series engine to a more fuel-efficient 3-cylinder Z-Series engine. While it has one less cylinder, it is engineered for better low-end torque, making it much punchier in city traffic. It also features Idle Start-Stop technology to maximize mileage.
Max Power: 80.46 bhp @ 5,700 rpm
The petrol engine delivers 80.46 bhp, while the S-CNG version produces 69.75 bhp. Although the peak power is slightly lower than the previous generation, the engine's efficiency has improved, offering a smoother power band for daily commuting.
Max Torque: 111.7 Nm @ 4,300 rpm
The engine provides 111.7 Nm of torque in petrol mode and 101.8 Nm in CNG mode. The Z-Series engine is specifically designed to provide better "pulling power" at lower speeds, reducing the need for frequent gear changes in heavy traffic.
