Airbag Count: 6 Airbags (Zeta & Alpha)
Safety is a priority in the current Baleno. It features 6 airbags (Front, Side, and Curtain) in the higher-spec Zeta and Alpha variants. Dual airbags are standard on Sigma and Delta.
ABS with EBD: Standard
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) is standard across all trims, preventing wheel lock-up during emergency braking and ensuring the force is distributed based on the load.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) & Hill Start Assist: Standard (AGS & Top Manuals)
The Baleno comes with ESC to help maintain control during skids and Hill Start Assist to prevent the car from rolling back on inclines.
ISOFIX: Standard
ISOFIX child seat anchorages are provided as standard in the rear, allowing for the secure and easy installation of international-standard child seats.
NCAP Safety Rating: 4 Stars (Bharat NCAP - 2025/26)
While the older Baleno struggled in global tests, the 2025/2026 Indian-spec Baleno has achieved a 4-star rating in Bharat NCAP tests. This improvement is credited to the standardized safety features like 6 airbags and the reinforced Heartect structure. Note: In Latin NCAP (2025), a similar model achieved 2 stars under different protocols.
