The 2026 Taycan features a redesigned 89 kWh Performance Battery as standard. Utilizing a high-voltage 800-volt architecture, it allows for a peak charging capacity of up to 270 kW (and up to 320 kW on the Performance Battery Plus), enabling a 10% to 80% charge in just 18 minutes under optimal conditions.

Max Power: 402 bhp (Overboost)

In the base rear-wheel-drive configuration, the Taycan produces 402 bhp (300 kW) during Launch Control. This power is delivered by a rear-axle Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PSM) that has been lightened for the 2026 model year to improve the power-to-weight ratio.

Max Torque: 410 Nm

The electric powertrain provides 410 Nm of instantaneous torque. Unlike a combustion engine, this peak torque is available from a standstill, providing immediate throttle response. The torque is managed by a unique two-speed transmission on the rear axle to optimize both acceleration and high-speed efficiency.

0-100 km/h: 4.8 seconds

With Launch Control active, the base Taycan completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.8 seconds. The "Push-to-Pass" function, part of the Sport Chrono package, provides a temporary 10-second power boost for overtaking maneuvers.

Top Speed: 230 km/h

The Taycan reaches an electronically limited top speed of 230 km/h. The two-speed gearbox allows the motor to stay within its most efficient RPM range even at these high speeds, a feat many single-speed EVs struggle to achieve without significant efficiency loss.
