The ASX was one of the first compact crossovers to feature a dedicated driver’s knee airbag as part of its standard 7-airbag system. Built on the RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body platform, it utilizes high-tensile strength steel to create a "safety cage" around the occupants. Modern updates also include Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) in higher trim levels.
