About Changan Alsvin in Nepal

The Changan Alsvin is a premium sub-compact sedan that marked the entry of Changan Auto into the Nepalese market. Distributed by MAW Vriddhi, it stands out with its "Butterfly Wing" front grille and streamlined body design that gives it a sophisticated yet aerodynamic look. Targeted at young professionals and families, the Alsvin offers a perfect blend of elegance and practicality, making it a strong competitor in the sedan segment in Nepal.

The interior of the Alsvin is designed with a focus on a "cockpit" feel, featuring a flat-bottom steering wheel and a 7-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. The cabin is adorned with high-quality faux leather seats and a digital instrument cluster that provides all necessary driving information at a glance. Despite its compact dimensions, the Alsvin provides ample legroom and a generous 390-liter boot space, ensuring comfort for all passengers during long drives.

Changan Alsvin Full Specifications & Features

Performance and Engine

1. Engine: 1.4L / 1.5L Blue Core

The Alsvin is powered by Changan's naturally aspirated Blue Core engines. The 1.4L variant is typically paired with a manual transmission, while the 1.5L is optimized for the DCT. These engines are Euro 5 compliant, focusing on low NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) and cost-effective maintenance.

2. Max Power: 99 - 105 hp

The 1.4L engine delivers 99 hp, whereas the 1.5L unit pushes output to 105 hp. This power is sufficient for a subcompact sedan, providing a balanced power-to-weight ratio that ensures smooth acceleration during daily city drives.

3. Max Torque: 135 - 145 Nm

Peak torque ranges from 135 Nm to 145 Nm. Because the torque peaks early, the Alsvin feels surprisingly nimble in traffic, allowing for quick lane changes and easy uphill climbs without requiring constant high-revving.

Transmission and Drivetrain

1. Gearbox: 5-Speed MT / 5-Speed DCT

Uniquely for its segment, the Alsvin offers a 5-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) in its higher trims. This provides faster and more efficient shifts than a traditional torque converter or CVT, while a 5-speed Manual remains available for those prioritizing simplicity.

Dimensions and Weight

1. Length: 4,390 mm

At 4,390 mm long, the Alsvin is a classic subcompact sedan. Its tight dimensions make it exceptionally easy to park in crowded urban areas while still maintaining a professional, streamlined sedan silhouette.

2. Ground Clearance: 151 mm

The ground clearance is set at 151 mm. While typical for a sedan in this class, it is paired with a soft suspension setup to absorb road imperfections and speed bumps comfortably.

Safety and Technology

1. Safety: Dual Airbags & HHC

Safety features include dual front airbags as standard. Higher variants add Hill Hold Control (HHC) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP), which are rare inclusions for an entry-level subcompact sedan.

2. Infotainment: 7-inch Touchscreen

The Alsvin features a floating 7-inch infotainment screen. It serves as the hub for Bluetooth connectivity and displays the feed from the integrated rearview camera, which includes dynamic guidelines.
