The Maybach EQS 680 SUV is powered by two Permanently Excited Synchronous Motors (PSM), one on each axle, delivering a combined output of 649–658 hp and a massive 950–955 Nm of torque. This setup features a specialized "Maybach" drive program as the default setting, which optimizes the torque delivery and air suspension to ensure rear-seat passengers experience the smoothest ride possible by minimizing body movements during acceleration and braking.

Despite its focus on serene comfort and its heavy curb weight, the Maybach EQS 680 is exceptionally quick, reaching 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h.
