The SL 55 is powered by the legendary M177 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine. Hand-assembled under the "One Man, One Engine" philosophy, it produces 469 hp (476 PS) and 700 Nm of torque. The "Hot Inside V" turbocharger configuration ensures exceptionally sharp throttle response and a compact engine footprint, while NANOSLIDE cylinder wall technology reduces friction for improved efficiency.
