Gearbox Type: Single-Speed Reduction Gear
As is standard with high-efficiency EVs, the MG4 uses a single-speed transmission. This eliminates gear-shift lag and provides a seamless linear acceleration curve. The system is controlled via a rotary "Shift-by-Wire" selector located on the floating center console.
Drive Type: RWD / AWD
The MG4 EV is primarily a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) vehicle, which facilitates a 50:50 weight distribution and a tight turning circle. The XPower variant adds a front motor to create an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system with electronic locking differentials to manage power delivery across all four wheels.
