Airbag Count: 8 Airbags
Standard safety includes 8 airbags: dual front, front side, side curtain, and a driver’s knee airbag. Additionally, a front-center airbag is included in some regions to prevent occupant collision during side impacts.
ABS with EBD: Standard
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) ensures that braking pressure is distributed to the wheels with the most grip. In the hybrid model, this system is integrated with the regenerative braking system for a seamless transition between motor-braking and friction-braking.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC): VSC with Active Cornering Assist
Toyota’s Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) works with Active Cornering Assist (ACA), which applies slight braking to the inner wheels during a turn to reduce understeer and keep the vehicle on its intended path.
Hill Start Assist: HAC (Hill-start Assist Control)
HAC is standard across all trims. It prevents the vehicle from rolling backward when starting on an incline by maintaining brake pressure for approximately two seconds after the driver releases the brake pedal.
ISOFIX: 2x Rear Outboard Seats
The RAV4 features dedicated ISOFIX lower anchors and top tether anchors on the two outer rear seats, allowing for the secure and easy installation of compatible child safety seats.
NCAP Safety Rating: 5-Star (Targeted/Anticipated)
While the 2026 model is currently undergoing testing, it is built on the TNGA-K platform which has consistently earned 5-star ratings. It comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 (TSS 4.0), featuring improved pedestrian detection and intersection support.
