The 6-speed constant mesh gearbox is tuned for performance. The sixth gear acts as an overdrive, allowing for relaxed engine RPMs during long-distance highway cruising.
Clutch Type: Assist and Slipper Clutch
The Assist and Slipper clutch prevents the rear wheel from hopping or locking up during aggressive downshifts. It also reduces the effort required to pull the clutch lever, making city commuting much less tiring.
Final Drive: Chain Drive
Power is transmitted via a Chain Drive. To maximize acceleration, Bajaj uses an upgraded sprocket setup that gives the NS400Z a more "raw" feel compared to its tourer siblings.
