Engine and Performance of Yamaha WR 155R in Nepal

Engine: 155 cc Liquid-Cooled (VVA)

This is the same high-tech engine found in the R15 and MT-15. It features Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), which optimizes the engine for both low-end torque (crucial for climbing trails) and high-end power (for highway cruising). Unlike most air-cooled dirt bikes, this is liquid-cooled, allowing it to maintain performance during long, strenuous off-road climbs.

Power & Torque: 16.7 PS & 14.3 Nm

The WR 155R delivers 16.7 PS of power. While slightly lower than the R15 to favor low-end grunt, it still dominates most 150cc-200cc air-cooled competitors. The 6-speed gearbox is a rare feature for a dual-sport in this segment, making it much more comfortable for reaching mountain trailheads via paved highways.
