Engine Displacement: 220 cc
The heart of the Cruise is the 220 cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled DTS-i engine. Unlike the Pulsar 220F, which is tuned for raw speed, the Avenger’s engine is optimized for a flatter torque curve, ensuring it pulls cleanly at lower speeds—perfect for relaxed cruising on the Prithvi Highway or navigating Kathmandu's outskirts.
Max Power: 19.03 PS @ 8500 rpm
The BS6 engine delivers 19.03 PS of power. While slightly lower than its sportier cousins, the refinement provided by the Fuel Injection (FI) system makes the power delivery much more linear and predictable, reducing engine stress during long hours on the saddle.
Max Torque: 17.55 Nm @ 7000 rpm
With 17.55 Nm of torque, the Avenger provides enough "grunt" to carry a pillion and light saddlebags without feeling sluggish. The oil-cooler helps maintain engine temperature during uphill climbs in the summer heat.
Fuel System: Fuel Injection (FI)
The transition to BS6 brought Electronic Fuel Injection, which has significantly improved cold starts and throttle response. This is a major upgrade for riders in Nepal who travel between the humid Terai and the colder hilly regions.
Top Speed: 120 km/h
The bike is geared for "mile-munching" at a steady pace. While it can reach 120 km/h, it is happiest at a "sweet spot" of 80–90 km/h, where vibrations are minimal and the windscreen effectively deflects the wind blast.
Mileage: 35–40 kmpl
In typical Nepalese riding conditions, you can expect a real-world mileage of 35–40 kmpl. The 13-liter fuel tank offers a touring range of approximately 450–500 km, making it a reliable companion for weekend trips.
