About Volvo XC60 in India

The Volvo XC60 B5 Ultimate is powered by a refined 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine integrated with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This powertrain setup is engineered to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce tailpipe emissions while providing a seamless driving experience. The mild-hybrid tech recovers kinetic energy during braking and stores it in a battery to assist the engine during acceleration. With an output of 250 bhp and 350 Nm of torque, the SUV offers smooth power delivery through an 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission, making it ideal for both spirited highway drives and relaxed city commuting.

The vehicle comes standard with an intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system that constantly monitors road conditions to distribute power between the front and rear wheels for optimum traction. Combined with its sophisticated suspension system, the XC60 delivers a balanced ride that prioritizes passenger comfort without sacrificing stability. Whether navigating tight urban corners or cruising on open Indian expressways, the mild-hybrid powertrain ensures that the engine operates at its most efficient points, providing a quiet and vibration-free cabin environment that is a hallmark of the Volvo driving experience.

Volvo XC60 Full Specifications & Features

Performance and Engine

1. Displacement: 1,969 cc

The Volvo XC60 is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine combined with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This "B5" powertrain is designed to recuperate energy during braking and store it in a 48V battery to assist the engine during acceleration, resulting in a smoother and more efficient drive.

2. Max Power: 250 bhp

The mild-hybrid setup delivers a peak power of 250 bhp. This allows the mid-size SUV to maintain a composed yet punchy character, making it ideal for both city commutes and long highway stretches across the country.

Transmission and Drivetrain

1. Gearbox: 8-Speed Automatic

The XC60 features an 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The transmission is tuned for comfort and refinement, ensuring that gear changes are virtually unnoticeable during relaxed driving.

Dimensions and Capacities

1. Ground Clearance: 216 mm

The XC60 offers a healthy ground clearance of 216 mm. This height is particularly useful for navigating Indian road conditions, providing enough clearance for large speed bumps and uneven rural roads.

2. Seating Capacity: 5 Seater

Unlike its larger sibling (the XC90), the XC60 is a dedicated 5-seater. It prioritizes maximum comfort for the passengers, featuring high-quality Nappa leather upholstery and sophisticated massage functions in the front seats.

Safety and Tech

1. NCAP Safety Rating: 5 Stars

As expected from a Volvo, the XC60 achieved a perfect 5-star rating in Euro NCAP. It comes loaded with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including collision avoidance, lane-keeping aid, and a 360-degree camera for easier parking.
