Performance and Engine of Mercedes benz V Class in India

Engine Displacement: 1,950 cc (Diesel) / 1,999 cc (Petrol)

The 2026 V-Class is offered in India with two primary 2.0-litre 4-cylinder powertrains. The V 300d (Diesel) utilizes the OM654 engine producing 233 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. The V 300 (Petrol) features the M254 2.0-litre turbocharged engine delivering 231 bhp and 370 Nm, supported by a 48V mild-hybrid integrated starter-generator (ISG) that provides a "Boost" of 20 bhp and 200 Nm for effortless acceleration.

Configuration: 4 Cylinders / 16-Valve DOHC

Both the petrol and diesel variants employ an in-line 4-cylinder layout with a Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) and 4 valves per cylinder. The petrol model uses a twin-scroll turbocharger with Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI), while the diesel model utilizes a high-pressure Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDI) system for maximum torque efficiency.

Acceleration and Speed: 0-100 km/h in 7.8 - 9.1 seconds

Despite its massive physical footprint, the V-Class is remarkably agile. The V 300d diesel variant can sprint from 0-100 km/h in approximately 7.8 seconds, while the petrol version takes slightly longer due to its different torque delivery. The top speed for these luxury haulers is electronically capped at 220 km/h.
