Performance and Engine of Bmw M5 in India

Engine: 4,395 cc (V8 TwinPower Turbo + Electric Motor)

The 2026 M5 marks a historic shift, pairing a 4.4L V8 engine with a powerful electric motor. This "M Hybrid" system delivers a staggering combined output of 717 bhp (727 PS) and 1,000 Nm of torque. In the Indian market, this provides the best of both worlds: silent city commuting and track-dominating power.

0-100 km/h: 3.5 Seconds

Despite its increased weight due to the hybrid battery, the M5 remains violently fast, hitting 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. Its top speed is electronically capped at 250 km/h but can be unlocked to 305 km/h with the optional M Driver’s Package.

Battery & Range: 18.6 kWh / 67–69 km (WLTP)

The M5 features an 18.6 kWh lithium-ion battery located in the underbody. It offers a pure electric driving range of approximately 67–69 km, allowing for emission-free local travel in busy Indian metros. It supports AC charging at up to 11 kW.
