Performance and Motor of Tata XPRES T EV in India

Motor Type: 72V 3-Phase AC Induction / Permanent Magnet Synchronous

The XPRES-T EV uses a fleet-grade electric motor optimized for high-duty cycles. For 2026, the updated XM 32 variant features a more efficient Permanent Magnet motor, while the base variants continue with the robust 72V Induction setup. Both are designed for long shifts with minimal heat fade.

Max Power: 41 PS to 48 PS (35.8 to 55 kW)

Power is capped to prioritize battery longevity and efficiency. The standard fleet version delivers 41 PS, while the newer 32 kWh variant pushes this to 48 PS. It is not built for drag races, but for steady, reliable urban hauling.

Max Torque: 105 Nm to 114 Nm

Instant torque allows taxi drivers to navigate heavy traffic with ease. The torque is tuned to be linear rather than aggressive, ensuring a smooth ride for passengers and less wear on the tires.

Battery Capacity: 21.5 kWh / 24 kWh / 32 kWh

The XPRES-T EV offers three battery tiers to suit different fleet requirements. The 32 kWh pack is the "inter-city" favorite, while the 21.5 kWh pack is the go-to for localized city taxi operations. All batteries are IP67-rated.

Range: 213 km to 391 km (ARAI/MIDC)

The top-tier 32 kWh variant is certified for a massive 391 km, though real-world fleet usage typically sees 240–260 km. The base 21.5 kWh version is certified for 213 km, suitable for shorter daily urban shifts.
