The 8-speed Tiptronic transmission has been completely re-engineered to house the high-voltage electric motor. It manages the handoff between electric and petrol power seamlessly, providing the rapid, crisp shifts required for an RS model.
Drive Type: Quattro with Dynamic Torque Vectoring
The 2026 RS5 debuts a world-first "Dynamic Torque Vectoring" system on the rear transaxle. It uses an electro-mechanical actuator that can adjust torque between the rear wheels in just 15 milliseconds. This allows for a "Rear-Biased" 15:85 torque split in Dynamic mode, enabling controlled drifts.
